Today, I had the pleasure of launching Relief Seeds for Rabai Sub-county in Mwawesa.

The event is a drive by the County Government of Kilifi to end hunger in the area, achieve food security, improve nutrition and promote sustainable agriculture. It will see a total of 7520 kgs of Maize, 2880 kgs of Green grams and 940 kgs of Cowpeas distributed.

The seeds are targeted at poor and vulnerable farmers from the villages and will enhance food security for 13160 persons in the sub-county.

The C.E.C Education and ICT

The C.E.C Education and ICT Hon. Prof. Gabriel Katana visited Elimu Center in Malindi Town. Elimu Center is  an international development organization helping children & youth to live life to the fullest. It also helps Children and youth with learning and library facilities.The C.E.C was accompanied by Mwawesa Ward M.C.A Hon Caro Kalume.

Another milestone in Mwawesa…
My office together with the Ministry of Lands Adjudication and Settlement and the County Government of Kilifi today launched the land verification and titling process.
In an occasion graced by Rabai MP Hon. William Kamoti , the exercise will see land in Mwawesa verified and will culminate in the issuance of title deeds. 
The one month process will cover Mikahani/ Mawe Mabomu/ Chonyi Section, Chang’ombe and Mwawesa Adjudication Sections.
The last time land adjudication was done in Mwawesa was in 1983.

Schools

For several years the little children of Kakoneni in Mwawesa have had to contend with the elements as they pursued their first formal classes in this ramshackle.

However, thanks to the County Government of Kilifi, their plight is about to change. The contractor to set up an ECD school has touched base and will begin operations from the 14th of February.
The ECD construction, a project for financial year 2018/2019 will run for 3 months and should have 2 classrooms and 2 toilets.

Drill Breholes

When the drill found water in Golo, elation gripped us all. Today the borehole has been tested, and aside from working fine, tonnes of water to nourish the population have been guaranteed.
